My name is Fiona.
I'm a Mum to 3 beautiful kids and wife to an amazing man.
I live in Frankston on the Mornington Peninsula, in Victoria Australia, and I love to cook!
In 2008, our world was tipped on it's head with the discovery that my then 7 month old son, had food allergies. As it turned out, LOTS of food allergies! And so began our journey into this crazy world of allergy friendly recipes.
I am passionate about inclusion and making sure that there are foods available that my little man, and others that live with allergies, can eat.
When I first started The Fussy Kitchen, we were dealing with allergies to 9 foods. (Dairy, Eggs, Nuts, Sesame, Soy, Tomatoes, Strawberries , Goats Milk and Yeast!) As a consequence, all of my recipes have had to be adapted over the years. Hence this website. I want to share my recipes with you so that you and your family can enjoy them too!
As a general rule, my recipes are Dairy, Egg, Nut, Sesame and Soy free! Some will also be gluten free, and some will be a combination. One thing that I am really proud of is that you can't tell that they're allergy friendly and they taste DELISH! You can't tell that my cakes don't have egg in them or that I've used rice milk instead of cow's milk. It's just yummy food! It's something I deliberately strive for!
I encourage you to check out each recipe and make sure it is suitable for the allergy profile you are dealing with.
As of the 2nd June 2021, I have added a shop to my website. I am so excited to be able to share my products with you all.
All of the products in my shop are free from Gluten, Dairy, Egg, Nuts and Soy, as well as Vegan friendly. That is, except for my Original Toasted Muesli, which is neither Gluten free or Vegan.
There are MANY delivery options available, so please check them out carefully. At the moment I am trialing delivery through 'Move It Couriers' for deliveries outside the 5km from Frankston area. They offer same day delivery up to about the 40km from Frankston area. Deliveries will go out on a Wednesday and a Friday at this stage. (Subject to change - depending on Markets and my availability)
